How to Install a Shower Niche

When you install a shower niche, you must consider several factors, including the size and position of the niche. You should ensure that the niche is far enough away from water splashes to keep the surrounding area dry, which will prevent the growth of mould. You should not place things that need to be air-dried in the niche, since this will only encourage mould growth. In fact, many people hang things that need to be air-dried on the frames of their showers or taps.

Once you have decided upon the size of your niche, you must then decide how you'd like the tile to be installed. This may be a simple DIY project, or you can hire a professional to do it for you. Tiles can be used on the inside and outside sides of the niche. It's important to consider the height of the walls when choosing a tile material, as the height of the walls will affect the height of the niche.

If you share a bathroom with another person, a shower niche with two separate nooks can be a great idea. One nook can be placed inside the shower, while the other can be placed outside the shower. This gives each person a separate space to keep shower toiletries.
